Things To Do At The Beach This Summer

Most people think that all their is to Summer fun at the beach is swimming and sun tanning, but this just is not true. There are actually lots of great things that you and your friends or family can do at the beach this summer.

• Go for a walk or run along the shore - did you know that sand can give you the greatest workout your legs have ever had? Well it is true and the further down to the water you get the harder it is because you are then moving in wet sand and you sink in. Running in this sand will burn at least 4 times the calories burned on a treadmill.
• Fly a kite - The wind and open air of the beach gives you a big advantage over anywhere else you could choose to fly a kite.
• Build a sand castle - allow yourself to be a kid for a few minutes and work off stress like never before. The feeling of the sand between your fingers is a sure stress-buster.
• Find treasure - all that sand gets shoved around all day everyday and people lose things all the time. Get yourself a metal detector and find some lost treasures.
• Organize a Summer Volleyball game - meet with some friends on a regular basis and just play for fun, sun, and exercise.
• Fish - lots of beaches have sections that are higher or deeper than others, find this area and have fun. Even if you do not catch anything it can be very relaxing to try.
• Get Baked - Have a beach cookout and bake some clams right there on the beach along with all the basics that make your guests happy. Have everyone bring something so you do not have to do it all or it wont be fun anymore.
