Little Girl Hairstyles
Posted May 1, 2009 – 1:21 am in: FashionAny of us moms face the challenge of doing a little girl’s hair every morning and quickly run out of ideas. Our little girls want something different every day and depending on not only your alertness, time availability, abilities, the child’s hair type, and other factors, you just may not be able to do that much.
These are the hair styles I find work fastest and easiest in the morning and generally make the princess happy with little fuss.
- The baby girl headbands - always popular make sure to keep several of these available in different styles, colors and widths. Brush the hair as straight as possible all in one direction (to the back), slide the headband back 2″ further than you want and slide forward in place. This will create a puff in the front and looks pretty on most girls. If need be you can pull a little forward to create bangs.
- Double clips - Brush the hair straight then take the first segment on each side and twist it back to form a crown. Use the clips on either side to keep it in place and it will stay put all day.
- The Bun - Create a very smooth ponytail then twist the hair around the first holder and either clip or pin the bun in place. For some reason my 6 year old loves this look.
- The tiny clip - Again brush the hair straight this time curling the ends under with the brush then use the tiny clip on one or both sides to pull the hair up and back, and create a waterfall effect.
- The hair bow - create a nice high and smooth ponytail and tie as usual, then use a nice hair bow over it to cascade and adorn quickly.
Of course, there are too many ways to list that will make a little girl happy, but the fact is that we all have limitations and can only do so much. My advice is to make time on the weekends to experiment and make her feel special so that when you cannot do it during the weekday morning rush she wont be so dissapointed.
