Her Super Sweet Sixteen

It seems like just yesterday that we were sending out birth announcements, but here it is our daughter’s sweet sixteen already. Now she is practically a woman and she has her own friends, her own ideas, and her own ways of doing things. You can ensure that there are flowers and pretty plants along the entire yard. Add a decorated arbor for picture taking and a space for dancing, and you can have a fantastic time. Doing this at someone else’s home may make this more special since it isn’t someplace she see’s everyday.
• Use a VA hall or Knights of Columbus hall - You can still get that rented hall without having a fancy reception hall. You can decorate the place in any way that you like, they will generally provide the tables, chairs, and linens. Once decorated these places can rival any fancy hall. You can still have it catered and serve the food buffet style, this is a huge savings indeed.
• If she must have the hall or restaurant then ask them how much you are allowed to do yourself to save money or consider having the party on a specific date that may save you money, sometimes they have an empty date or someone cancels and they would rather fill it at a lower cost than have no one at all. It never hurts to ask so tell them exactly what you have to work with, if they want your business they will find ways to make it work.

Your daughters sweet sixteen can be special and wonderful without costing you the equivalent of a college education. Go ahead and send out those sweet sixteen invitations, you can survive it.
